Research investigators in Florida are looking for Latina breast cancer patients and their partners to join them in a critical study.
Juntos Después del Cancer (Together After Cancer) expands on leveraging digital technology to help couples cope with the impacts on their relationship.
Dr. Dina Martinez Tyson from The University of South Florida (USF) is now recruiting nationwide for the program, which is offered in both Spanish and English.
Addressing a Critical Need
This couples-based intervention, adapted specifically for Latina survivors, fills a gap in culturally relevant resources, as doctors often don’t address how cancer affects relationships. “If there are limited resources and information in English,” says Dr. Martinez Tyson “you can imagine how much less information is readily available in Spanish.”
Join the Study
If you or someone you know is a Latina breast cancer survivor (18+ and diagnosed within the past 10 years), consider joining and bringing your partner to participate. The program lasts 6-8 weeks and can be completed at each couple’s pace. Couples are compensated for their participation.
Participating in this free program could make a significant difference in the lives of many Latina breast cancer survivors and their partners.
