Introducing TLCI’s 2026 Friday Forum Series on Social Determinants of Health
Why do some communities experience greater cancer risks and poorer health outcomes than others? While genetics and personal health behaviors play a role, research increasingly shows that the conditions in which people live, learn, work, and age also influence health. In our May newsletter we introduce the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) framework and preview the themes that will shape TLCI’s 2026 Friday Forum Series.
The newsletter also highlights a follow-up story on Rise South City’s environmental justice efforts in South San Francisco, along with community resources and research opportunities focused on Latino health. Read TLCI’s 2026 May newsletter →
Join researchers, clinicians, patient advocates, community organizations, and policymakers for four consecutive Fridays exploring the social, environmental, economic, and structural factors shaping cancer outcomes in Latino communities.
