Support research, education, and advocacy. See what your gift makes possible.

Your support allows us to continue to do critical work like convening our annual Forum. This past October, the Institute’s Forum focused on the impact of climate change on the Latino cancer burden.

Among our eight expert presenters, Amy Liebman, MPA, Chief Program Officer of Workers, Environment and Climate, Migrant Clinician Network, spotlighted migrant farmworkers and the extreme heat, pesticide exposure and wildfires that threaten their lives. Pesticide exposure has been linked to prostate cancer, brain cancer, breast cancer, and leukemia. Risks are amplified for pregnant farm workers exposed on the job, as pesticide exposure has also been linked to childhood leukemia.

And we are excited that our special guest, cancer survivor and Texas Congressman, Joaquin Castro, has agreed to be our ally in addressing ongoing policy issues of concern. At the end of the conversation, the San Antonio representative told us he would engage the Congressional Hispanic Caucus to focus more on cancer in the Latino community.
