The Latino Cancer Institute (TLCI) is a nationwide community and research network dedicated to solving the issues and burden of Latino cancer.
TLCI is a national force multiplier, convening cancer service agencies and researchers to develop and share best practices that improve Latino health outcomes. Together, we advocate for policy change, advance equitable care, and reduce cancer disparities across Latino communities.
We connect Latino-focused organizations, advocates, and researchers to work as one powerful voice. Together, we shape cancer policy, improve access to resources, and accelerate solutions that serve our communities.
How Partners Contribute
TLCI relies on network partners to help drive our shared mission forward by:
Best practices are generally accepted actions that are tested and proven to be viable and dependable. Through surveys, pilot programs, outreach strategies and other methods, organizations learn culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate ways to serve their communities, delivering high-impact results that improve lives.
Some examples of best practices include:
The Latino Cancer Institute helps develop, curate, and distribute best practices used by our network of cancer experts. We connect in order to share, learn and grow.
One of the key objectives of The Latino Cancer Institute is to better engage with scientists who research the Latino community around issues of cancer, from bench to bedside. Our alliances with global cancer research institutions also provide opportunities to network with thousands of community leaders, governmental officials, public advocates and educators dedicated to solving the burden of Latino cancer.
The Latino Cancer Institute provides a vital connection with and between researchers and research agencies.
Our mutual issues of concern include:
Connect with us, increase your knowledge through partnerships and collaborations and contribute to research projects that will lead to improvements in Latino cancer education, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
The Latino Cancer Institute turns a spotlight on those scientific, medical and public health researchers working to making a difference on cancer in the Latino community. We want to acknowledge their efforts, while we increase our own knowledge and awareness about the most relevant cancer findings in order to disseminate practical information where applicable.
We are open to Spotlight submissions from the cancer research community for those specifically working in U.S. Latino/Hispanic populations.
As a nonprofit organization, we rely on philanthropy and grants in our mission to support other agencies. Your funding allows us to continue the development of new programs and tools we can share with those making a difference in the lives of Latino cancer patients, survivors, and their caregivers.
