One aim of The Latino Cancer Institute is to promote funding and policy that impacts Latino cancer issues regionally and across the country.

On August 27th, 2019, The Institute’s Ysabel Duron testified before the California Legislature’s Subcommittee on Biotechnology which focused on Precision Medicine.

Duron warned against creating greater barriers to this cutting edge care and recommended that the legislature invest California tax dollars in a People Fund to support education and access for low-income communities.
