Join The Latino Cancer Institute (TLCI) and expert presenters as we share insights and new findings on climate change, environmental racism driven by bad policy, and how disparate climate factors exacerbate the Latino cancer burden.
Among our expert presenters is Rachel Morello-Frosch, PhD, MPH, from UC Berkeley who in Hour 3 will examine the intersection of climate change, environment, and historical racism, and how Latinos and other vulnerable communities can experience a triple jeopardy of exposure to environmental hazards and social stressors that lead to health inequity.
Dr. Morello-Frosch is an environmental health scientist, epidemiologist and Professor in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy and Management and the School of Public Health at UC Berkeley. Her research focuses on social determinants of environmental health among diverse communities with a focus on economic inequality, racism, psychosocial stress, and how these factors interact with environmental hazard exposures to produce health inequities. She also collaborates with environmental justice partners to develop science-policy tools that improve regulatory decision-making, policy and advance environmental justice and community health.
